In 1969, in what history calls the start of the Troubles, a nine-year-old boy’s stable community is literally exploding. Kenneth Branagh’s memoir portrays those times in most unlikely fashion through joy, laughter and music. The writer and director guides us through the turmoil and violence wrought by adults through the eyes and perceptions of his young self. Winner of the People’s Choice Award at the 2021 Toronto International al Film Festival.
