THE QUIET GIRL

A quiet, neglected girl is almost submerged in the noise and despair of her dysfunctional family. Possibly she has learned that silence is a way to survive. Cáit is gracelessly dropped by her father to live with her mother’s cousin for the summer of 1981. Cáit blossoms on this Irish farm and can vanish, both in her head and reality, into the open countryside. However, in this house, an observant 9-year-old can be told a secret where there are meant to be none.
