Film Description

In 1916, on the eve of conscription, a small Yorkshire Choral Society has been depleted by the war. It becomes a great leveller, recruiting singers from all walks of life, women included, in order to press ahead with its programme. But with a new uncompromising chorus master who has recently returned from a career in Germany, will the suspicions between ragtag choir members and this makeshift orchestra derail the music that the town so needs?
