This is a film to draw attention to a system as cruel as it is bureaucratically “efficient”. An immigrant Portuguese family is on the grim edge of poverty in London. The deaf daughter and the other two children are mistakenly apprehended by Social Services. Listen powerfully illustrates the UK’s fast moving process of adopting out children they take into “care”. Once adopted, they will not be returned. Errors are rarely acknowledged and corrected.
