When their father dies unexpectedly, three semi-estranged siblings inherit the family winery in Burgundy, France. Disagreements and old grudges bubble to the surface in this intimate family drama, punctuated with winking humour and dazzling landscapes. When he learns that his father has fallen ill, Jean (Pio Marmaï) leaves behind his wife and child in Australia to return to the family estate. Jean’s younger sister, Juliette (Ana Girardot), has unofficially taken over the family business while their father is bedridden, but she struggles to be taken seriously by those around her and to believe in her own capabilities as a winemaker. The youngest brother, Jérémie (François Civil), can’t offer much help, as he navigates a new marriage and overbearing father-in-law. Despite their differences, all three siblings have an undeniable connection to each other, the land, and the wine it produces. When their father dies and the family business is left to them, the siblings must decide what their family’s legacy will become, and what that means for each of their lives. The wine flows easily, the jocular camaraderie between brothers and sister feels warm and familiar, and the breathtaking countryside evokes the slow, seasonal changes that envelope fields and family alike.
