Directed by Etienne Comar

The film intertwines the life of Django Reinhardt and Paris under occupation.

Known as the founder of “Gypsy Swing”, Django’s hot jazz quintet’s success was popular throughout Europe but his fans included a Nazi officer posted to the French capital.

The virtuoso jazz guitarist and then his family are trapped by Nazi views of purity in race and music. They begin a harrowing effort to escape.  In just this single chapter of Django’s life we discover his music, skills as a composer and the risks people will take to defy the indefensible.
