Quinte Film Alternative Postpones It’s Fall Season
Hello valued members and friends of QFA
The Quinte Film Alternative board has been assessing the various forces arrayed against our fall 2020 season and has decided to delay the 25th anniversary season until January 2021.
At this time those forces include:
Limits on gatherings in enclosed spaces.
Protocols for hygiene and physical spacing.
Potential for a “second wave” of Covid 19 and the consequences of same.
In addition, at the QFA management level, we were informed this week that Film Circuit (a division of the Toronto International Film Festival) will not be able to acquire films for us over the next few months due to pandemic reduced staffing. Film productions are also delayed so even TIFF has selected only 50 for this year’s Festival. That said, the QFA selection committee will be viewing those with an eye for films for January and beyond.
We cannot yet anticipate the number of films and physical/health restrictions on audiences that the new year will bring. We’re also relatively certain that our usual season of 9 films plus gala may prove impossible.
