In the 1920s and 30s in Quebec, power resides in the church, husbands and economic class. Mary Travers seems poorly equipped to survive in a city until she sings at a social gathering. Folk songs and her unique personal views become La Bolduc’s escape against numerous odds and she begins a revolution in kitchens and parlours.

“Debbie Lynch-White is absolutely terrific in the title role of La Bolduc, the new biopic that…topped the provincial box office in its opening weekend, and finished 2018 as the year’s second highest grossing Canadian film.”
